On Thursday, September 17, Bethany Village residents and their invited guests enjoyed a special evening of German food, drink and culture! The first annual Oktoberfest went off without a hitch. Musicians from the University of Dayton New Horizons Oompah Band and the Sauerkraut German Band performed for residents and staff.
Favorites like bratwurst, warm German potato salad and hot pretzels were enjoyed by all. The crowd also choose from several selections of German beer and wine.
When the music really got going, residents jumped up to dance and mixed with staff for the perennial favorite, “The Chicken Dance.”
“I think you’re going to have to do this every year… whether you want to or not!” resident Violet Sharpe exclaimed.
