In partnership with Kettering Health Network, Bethany Village offered a series of health education programs this year of interest to older adults – all free and open to the public.
As October 19th-23rd is health education week, we wanted to take this opportunity to give our sincere thanks to our Kettering Health Network friends and colleagues for their support in making these health education programs possible. Good health is not just an individual enterprise, but also a community one.
Thank you to Barb Emrick, MS, RN, PCHNS, CCP from the Kettering Center for Heart & Vascular Health for giving her presentation in April titled, “Silent Heart Disease: Uncover Your Risk.”
Thank you to Jane Key, RD, LD, Community Outreach Dietitian, who presented “Healthy Meal Preparation for Independent Seniors” in June.
In July, we hosted a Kettering Health Network Health Fair where approximately 120 Bethany Village residents and other guests took part in vital health screenings. Thank you to everyone who was involved in making this and our August pre-diabetes presentation a success.
This month’s program on balance was presented by Tonya Chambers and Physical Therapist Christina Cooper. Thank you to both of these professionals for their time and expertise.
We look forward to continuing our relationship with Kettering Health Network to offer these and many other fine health programs to our residents and community.
