honor_flight_ad_05_27_13On Independence Day, we give thanks for those who fight for freedom. With our gratitude, 10 veterans will soon board an Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. to visit war memorials, courtesy of the Bethany Village senior living community in Centerville.

Bethany Village paid to sponsor the flights for 10 veterans “to honor our community members who served our country,” said Jackie D’Aurora, Senior Director, Marketing and Public Relations for Graceworks Lutheran Services, which owns and operates Bethany Village. “So many of our Bethany residents have served our country in its hours of greatest need. With this Honor Flight, we thank them and all who have served the cause of freedom.”

Honor Flight Dayton (honorflightdayton.org) is a local non-profit organization created to transport Miami Valley veteran heroes to Washington, D.C. to visit and reflect at their war memorials. Several Bethany Village residents have participated in an Honor Flight and others are on the waiting list. Honor Flight participants are chosen in order of a waiting list of U.S. military veterans.
